The Same Sex Marriage bill is, I am glad to say, nearer to completion after the bishops in the House of Lords admitted defeat. One of the finer details still to be worked out, however, is what constitutes adultery among people of the same sex.

Lady Tree (1863-1937) is said to have made this remark on discovering her husband, Herbert Beerbohm Tree, dining à deux with the young and handsome actor Esme Percy.
